Questions Solved

I recently upgraded my Vista to Windows 7 and installed a new western digital hard drive. The guy at the shop transferred all my files into the new hard drive and also installed the new Windows. Everything was working fine there but when I reached home, my computer started hanging up after sometime. I checked the hard disk for any weird sounds but there were none. Can someone tell me; is there a problem with the Windows 7? Or is it a problem with my new hard disk? So I can change the damn thing and not risk losing my files.

Hi,

I am having trouble with my FTP. Today, there was a technician who instructed me to do some upgrading on the router. He came without my knowledge and changed everything. Since then I am having a hectic time, trying to configure my computer to the network.

Hi!

I have a Dell inspiron laptop that keeps on shutting off by itself, though it does turn on sometimes and works for hours .But sometimes it shuts off  the very first time, I switch it. It looks like someone is unplugging, when  shuts down because its sudden. I don’t know what could have caused this?

Although my fan is busted , I keep it cool by an external power source fan. It’s not an overheating problem since I checked the laptop bottom and it is cool when it does that. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance

Hello,

I have a question regarding Windows 7 remote access. Actually I bought a new 7800dc HP desktop, which comes with a Windows 7 update from Vista. Now before I had the Windows 7 installed on that PC I could connect to it from my laptop using remote desktop but now that I have installed Window 7.

I can’t do that. I tried searching for help in anyway to enable it but I can find an option there. Please I want to use my Windows 7, as it is much better than Vista. Is there anyway I can still keep Windows 7 and also have remote desktop facility.

Good Day everyone,

Today I tried to connect the internet to my laptop for the first time. But it gave me, limited or no connectivity error. I don’t understand what exactly is the problem. So I posted it here, to meet some experts, to get my problem solved. Since this is the first time I connected, I assure you that this is, somewhere toward the setting.

There is an error that has been re-occurring every time that I am on the internet especially when I am going to start a game. The error pops-out a few seconds when the game starts. The error is: “Generic Host Process for win32 services has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience”. On the pop-up box, there are two options to choose: “Send Error Report” or “Don’t Send”.

When I choose any of the options, the browser will only crash and exit.

Lately my power supply has started up more than the usual fan noise. I tried almost everything I know like opening it up and cleaning it up with a blower but the damn noise won’t stop. I even installed a software that will help me reduce my fan speed as my pc is in an air conditioned room and won’t need much cooling but sadly my motherboard won’t support that option.

The weirdest part is that the noise slowly increases when I turn on my computer and after sometime it is unbearable. It’s a cooler master 450 watt power supply with a large size bearing fan.

Any help will be deeply appreciated.

Hey I have a question. I recently bought a 128mb64 bit 8x speed video card for my PC in which earlier I was using a 64mb card. Well my problem is that after installing the new card my PC gets stuck while playing games like command and conquer generals. I think it is related to the video card because earlier I didn’t have such problem with my old one.

Between I have a Pentium3 650mhz computer (an old and reliable system) and the cards I am talking about, both go into the onboard 2x agp slot.

Also the PC gets stuck mostly in games not in programs.

VLC media player version 8.0 has done me some real damage. All my music files are corrupted and if you click any icon on the desktop it turns to a VLC media player window. I cannot open my computer, control panel or any other icon on the desktop. This means than I can’t uninstall the VLC application. When I succeed to access my music files and try to run any of them, they all crushed.

I tried to install version 8.4 and more problems occurred. Windows media player gave this type of error "Windows media player cannot access this file. The file might be in use, you might not have access to the computer where the file is stored” .
