I’m not a tech geek. I don’t keep up with every new gadget launch. I fly a few times a year, watch many movies on my phone, and live in a small apartment where my TV is basically whatever device is closest to my face.
So when a friend told me about the Rokid Max 2 AR Glasses, a pair of wearable glasses that project a giant screen into the air, I was skeptical. They seemed too futuristic and complicated, not for someone like me.
But then I tried them. And I’m kind of obsessed.
Here’s what happens: you put them on, plug them into your phone, and suddenly you’re looking at a giant virtual screen, like 215 inches giant. It floats in front of you, clear and bright, and it’s just there. You can watch Netflix, YouTube, TikTok, or whatever you want, and nobody else can watch it.

It just works.
I watched Dune on a flight, zoned out with Friends at the laundromat, and even connected it to my Switch for a Mario Kart marathon on my couch. It’s ridiculous how easy it is.
The Rokid Max 2 is light—like, I forgot I was wearing it light (75 grams). The display is sharp, the colors pop, and the speakers are built into the arms, so you don’t need earbuds unless you want them. And somehow, people next to you can’t hear anything. I tested this on a plane, and my neighbor didn’t even notice I was watching Deadpool 2 during boarding.
I also wear glasses, and these have built-in vision adjustment for nearsightedness. Two dials behind the lenses let you adjust focus up to -6.00D. It’s a thoughtful feature, especially for sharing with family or friends.
These glasses have become my go-to way to tune out the world. They’re perfect for late-night Netflix without lighting up the whole room, for zoning out at the airport, and when I just need a break from scrolling and want something that feels more intentional, more like watching and less like doom-scrolling.
They even fit in a small case, which I toss next to my charger and snacks in my bag.

I expected the Rokid Max 2 to be a flashy tech toy I’d try once and forget. Instead, it’s become my favorite way to watch stuff when I’m not home, or even when I am.
If you’ve ever wished for a bigger screen without buying a TV, or just want a better way to enjoy content privately and comfortably, this might be what you didn’t know you needed.
