I have bought a new laptop with Windows 10 installed in it. But since the laptop is imported from China, the system language is not English but Mandarin. I want to change the language, but the following error occurs – connect to the internet to check for language packs Windows 10. Please help.

It seems that your computer is having trouble connecting to the internet. Generally, Windows can download the language pack of your choice automatically. Ensure that you have a good internet connection. Also, try reconnecting to your Wi-Fi. If you are sure you have a good internet connection, you can try following steps.

That is just a connection error which usually appears when your computer is offline and you run a program that requires internet connection. If you simply want to change the language of your Windows 10 and it prompts you with that error, simply go online or connect your computer to the internet. Once it is online, go to “Settings”, “Time & language”, and then “Region & language”.

Under “Languages”, click “Add a language”.

Windows 10 add language

On the next screen, select the language you want to use. Next, select the language you added and click “Set as default”.

Windows 10 set default language

To allow Windows 10 to show you local content based on you current location, under “Country or region”, select your location or country.
