Recently I bought an HP laser printer for home use, I have Dell PC a Few years old. When I tried to connect the printer to the PC it can’t be connected. The PC has window XP installed on it, with 1 GB ram, 500 GB HDD. I also installed the drivers for the printer, but the issue couldn’t be resolved

Cristopher,

I guess you say that you can`t physically connect the printer to the computer? Or yes, you can connect the cable, but the computer doesn't identify the printer?

For question 1, I guess that you purchased a new printer that only has USB ports to be connected. Some new printer does not have the USB cable inside of the box. If that is the case, you will have to get one USB cable for printer first. Just in case, here is a picture of the cable you need.

Also you must install the printer driver. Some printers have the CD with the driver inside the box, but if that is not your case, you will have to go to the site of the manufacturer to download it.

For question 2

You  just have only to install the correct printer driver, the same at the last part of the answer to question 1

Hope this helps

Hi, firstly if you are connecting your HP printer for the first time make sure all the cables are connected in rightly. After that open the printer I mean switch on the printer power button and the see that your PC automatically detects its drivers or not if it does detects automatically then your work is done and if it does not then you need to install drivers from the DVD you get with the printer. This will definitely work.
