Users would like to verify whether or not having a problem with the Domain Name System (DNS) server is the main reason why they are having a hard time connecting to Internet hosts.

Could anyone here suggest some troubleshooting steps on how to determine if the DNS server is resolving Internet host names? Thanks in advance.

You have to verify or confirm that the server PC has a valid operational network connection. Better to check that associated client hardware such as cables & adapters are working appropriately at the customer using basic and simple steps for network & hardware troubleshooting.

And if the server hardware seems to be functioning and arranged properly, you have to check that it has network connectivity thru sounding other routers and PC that are available and used on the similar network as the affected DNS servers. It’s very simple and I hope that I can help you for this issue. Bye.

The users should verify first if they are using a 3G or 4G mobile broadband USB modem or the usual cable internet. If they are using the USB modem, they should verify first if they can connect to the network or to the internet but there is no internet connection. For 3G or 4G USB modem users, their connection depends on the strength of the signal their stick receives. If they aren’t receiving strong signal then this justifies why they can’t connect to the internet.

For cable internet users, the users should check if their network card is installed properly. If they can connect to the internet the previous days and this problem happens just now, they should contact first their ISP if they really don’t have an internet connection. If the problem is not with the ISP, try uninstalling the network card from the Device Manager and then install it back. It’s possible that it’s only a fluke in the system.

The users may also try downloading DNS Jumper for Windows. This tool helps find faster DNS Servers for faster connection.
