Voguish, slim, and a good set of cameras, yes we are talking about the very recent smartphone, Oppo, which has a lot of emphasis on the design to the slimness and lightness. Once again, with its brand new F17 series, Oppo is again in the news for obvious reasons with its higher-end model.
Oppo affirms that in this time frame F17 Pro is not one of them but the slimmest phone in their segment, many thanks to its low weight, which is just 164gms- taking it by measurements to be just 7.48mm, alongside featuring a total of six cameras with 30W fast charging capacity.
Peculiarities
1. Eyeball
Its plastic frame and the back panel whisk together attractively, without creating any further ugly bumps. Weighing just 164gms with a 6.4-inch full-HD+ Super AMOLED display with Gorilla Glass 3+ and a tall 20:9 aspect ratio, it gives the smartphone away more brilliant look. The display provides a rich color, and all the content appears bright and sound as a whole.
2. Camera
The Oppo F17 Pro has six cameras, which Oppo is retailing as “AI portrait cameras.” These include a 48-megapixel f/1.7 primary camera, an 8-megapixel ultra-wide-angle camera, a 2-megapixel monochrome camera, and a 2-megapixel depth camera. There is a 16-megapixel primary selfie camera and a 2-megapixel depth camera.
3. Battery
The 4,015mAh battery generally lasts on an average for a day and a half under a balanced to light usage. It performs pretty well in the HD video loop test, lasting for around 16 hours and 48 minutes. The battery charges quickly within an hour. So, the battery is good enough, though.
4. Software
The Android skin used is Color OS 7.2. Smart Sidebar, Quick Return Bubble, themes, and custom apps such as Oppo Relax are all present. The octa-core SoC is honestly speedy. Gaming performances are pretty good decent. Games such as Oddmar, Pixel Gun 3D, and Battle Prime all run very smoothly. The in-game graphics look quite good, and the gameplay is smooth. Overheating isn’t an issue either, as other than the back of the phone gets slightly warmer, otherwise it’s comfortable to hold even with extended gaming sessions.
5. Multimedia
The Oppo F17 Pro utilities the MediaTek Helio P95 SoC and comes in just one configuration. The speaker is quite loud towards the bottom, but the ability to use the earpiece as a second speaker for stereo is a better option. Audio Jack of 3.5 MM is available.
6. Storage
The storage capacity is fantastic, allowing up to 8GB of LPDDR4X RAM and 128GB of UFS 2.1 storage. It is expandable up to 256GB in Oppo F17 Pro.
7. Performance
The performance is very much satisfactory as the chipset is MediaTek Helio P95. The processor being Octa-core (2.2 GHz, Dual-core, Cortex A75 + 2 GHz, Hexa Core, Cortex A55). Oppo F17 Pro has been architectured in 64 bit, with a supporting Ram of 8GB and graphics supporting as PowerVR GM9446.
8. Special Features
Oppo F17 Pro has got some unique features such as Fingerprint Sensor, which are positioned on-screen and are optical. Other sensors being the Geomagnetic Induction, Light Induction, Proximity Sensor, Acceleration Sensor, Gyroscope, Support Step Function, 1866 MHz RAM Frequency, OTG Storage Format: FAT32, NTFS, EXTAT, Maximum Support for OTG Storage: 256 GB, Number of RAM Channels: 2, WLAN Display, Bluetooth Codec Support SBC, AAC, aptX, aptX HD, LDAC, Bluetooth Shared Network, Face Unlock, Fingerprint Under Optical Screen, Facial Recognition, Fingerprint Payment, VOOC 4.0 with Fast Charging Support, Flash Charging (30W), Graphite Heat Dissipation, Black Screen Gestures, Smartphone Calls, Lift Up the Bright Screen, Three-finger Screenshot. Air Gestures, a unique feature, picks up calls through air, i.e. picking up calls without even touching the phone via an air gesture from as far as 20-50 CMS from the phone, which gets activated by lifting the hand upwards.
The dual SIM smartphone OppoF17 Pro has both of its sim sizes as Nano, supporting a network of 4G (Indian bands), 3G, 2G. It has also got a Volte facility. Sim 1 supports 4G Bands: TD-LTE 2300(band 40), FD-LTE 1800(band 3), and 3G Bands: UMTS 1900 / 2100 / 850 / 900 MHz, 2G Bands: GSM 1800 / 1900 / 850 / 900 MHz, GPRS, EDGE are available. Sim 2 supports 4G Bands: TD-LTE 2300(band 40), FD-LTE 1800(band 3), and 3G Bands: UMTS 1900 / 2100 / 850 / 900 MHz, 2G Bands: GSM 1800 / 1900 / 850 / 900 MHz, GPRS, EDGE are available here as well. OppoF17 Pro supports WIFI 802.11, with Wi-Fi features being Mobile Hotspot. GPS with A-GPS is available in OppoF17 Pro. It’s a mass storage device with USB connectivity and charging.
10. General
OppoF17 Pro was officially launched on September 2, 2020. Initially, it was worth INR 22,990, but at present, it’s available at INR 19,990 at various outlets online. As earlier mentioned having the O.S as Android v10 (Q), custom UI being Color OS.
