Questions with no accepted solutions

In am running window 2008 on VMware and currently want to set up DCPRO as a virtual center which is supported by windows 2008 server as indicated on the manual. Running DCPRO I receive the error below about ports are already in use. Issuing the NETSH – a commands shows the ports are NOT in use.

Removing the static RPC mapping per KB 92985 fixes the problem. Note the range I used to statically map starts at TCP 49, 172 which does not involve ports mentioned as already in use. See below.

Any idea what is going on?

The error is as follows:

Hi,

I'm using this command: new-dynamic distribution group -name entire test –organizational unit usd. local –recipient filter  { ((recipient type –e.g. 'user mailbox, mail contact, mail user') -and (customattribute2 -ne 'n'))}.  When I use this command,.it goes through fine. But when I look at it in the exchange management console it says;

Microsoft Exchange

An Active Directroy error 0x8007203A occurred while searching for domain controllers in domain nordell local

The server is not operational.

Name: "nordelllocal"

Hi,

I am doing a test migration from SBS 2003 to Win 2008. I have run adprep /forest prep and adprep /domain prep on the SBS server. I have raise domain and exchange functionality. All this has gone fine. I have joined the 2008 64 bit server to the domain.

But in the last stages of DC promo on the new 2008 server I get the message

Active Directory Domain Services Installation Wizard

You will not be able to install a read-only domain controller in this domain because "adprep/rodcprep" was not yet run.

Do you want to continue?

Hi,

I upgraded from a previous version of Outlook to Outlook 2010.

Whenever I open an Outlook email I receive an error; if I click OK, the email opens but basically I know there is a problem with the underlying configuration.

Shortcut Error

Initializing MAPI session object failed.

I have tried to rename the underlying DLL on by going to D:WindowsSystem32, аnԁ renaming mapi32.dll, but then I don’t what to rename it. If you have any idea on how to correct this, please, help.

Thank you.

Hi,

I have a HP server, which I have windows 2003 R2 installed. After planning the cluster deployment strategy, correct deployment of that cluster ensures high availability of the servers that run Microsoft Exchange Server 2003. I want to fully understand how to deploy Exchange Server 2003 in a cluster.

The command I am using is C:Program FilesMicrosoftExchange ServerBin>eseutil /d C:Program FilesExchange serverMailboxFirst Storage GroupMailbox Database.edb. This is the default settings under which I used to install. But then I get the following error message;

VCS Error

Hi everyone,

I have a minor annoyance after I upgraded from Microsoft exchange 2003 to Microsoft exchange 2010.

I have windows 2008 R2 server with all FSMO roles as well as being a global catalog server.

The issue is that about I have tried to go to a new panel in the EMC many times and I get the following error;

Microsoft Exchange

An error caused a change in the current set of domain controllers. It was running the command 'Gel-FederationTrust'.

Hi,

I have a problem while installing FBE (Fast back for Exchange) for Microsoft exchange, I am running Microsoft server 2008 on a hp server machine.

In the process the system generates an error which I have not been able to correct;

FastBack

ACNS929E Microsoft Exchange Server MAPI Client is not installed.

I think the error is due to a missing installation of the Exchange MAPI component that was not installed on the Exchange server as listed in the Fastback for Exchange User Guide as part of the prerequisite.

Well, that’s according to some forums which I have not been able to follow up the responses to make it work.

Hi!

I use 3 browsers but I preferred to use Google Chrome. Just a few days ago, an error appeared stating that my profile cannot be opened. To rectify, I uninstalled Google Chrome and then reinstalled it. Still, it was giving me the same error. After that I restored my PC settings using a restore utility, but it was unsuccessful.

Hello there,

 My name is Carl from the University of Nairobi, currently doing a personal project on Microsoft server for exchange 2007.

I am implementing a virtual server from a VM software in the same machine as my windows opera rating system.

When I am attempting to run an MMC (Microsoft management console) snap in, I receive the following error;

MMC

The snap-in below, referenced in this document, has been restricted by policy.

Contact your administrator for details.

Hey,

My name is Alice. I am a database administrator, but not really with a lot of experience as pertains exchange servers.

I am running an exchange server 2008 in my office. Everything was working fine until I had to re install the software due to some virus attack.

Everything has been set up well, I believe. But when I am trying to open a remote pure message console on my exchange server, I get the following error which I have no idea on how to solve it.
