I See Some Rainbow-like Colors When Playing Fallout 76

I am playing Fallout 76 on PlayStation 4, most of the time. Though I have a computer to play the game, I often choose PS4 because it is a lot faster. You don’t have to wait for the operating system to boot before you can play. You just need to turn on the console and start playing.

But I’m just wondering, how come sometimes I see rainbow-like colors in the game? Turning off then turning on the TV doesn’t solve the problem. It doesn’t happen always but I wish I knew how to fix it.

This problem usually happens on Sony PlayStation 4 only. When playing “Fallout 76” on Sony PlayStation 4, you may experience freezing and sometimes rainbow textures. To fix this, first, check if you have any background downloads. If there is then pause it or cancel the download. If this doesn’t work, just restart the game. Press the [PS] button on the controller to go to the Dashboard.

Next, highlight or select “Fallout 76” then select “Options”, “Close Application” and then press the [X] button. After this, select “Yes” then press the [X] button. To restart the game, highlight or select “Fallout 76” then press the [X] button. If this doesn’t work, try clearing your save data.

Note: deleting your Fallout 76 saved data file can fix some errors on the console but you will lose your saved photos and will reset your Options settings. Your game progress and your characters will not be affected. To clear your save data, on your PlayStation console’s Dynamic Menu, go to “Settings”, “Application Saved Data” then select “Saved Data” in “System Storage”.

Next, select “Delete” then “Fallout 76”. Check “Fallout 76 Save Data” then select “Delete” and then “OK” to confirm. If this doesn’t work, try to power cycle the console. To do this, on your controller, press and hold the [PS] button then select “Turn Off PS4”.

Wait until the light on the console goes out then unplug it from the power for about ten to twenty seconds (10 – 20 seconds). After this, plug the console back to the power and press the [PS] button to turn it on.
