Usually, an non-encrypted download URL is something like this one: http://www.domain-name.com/download/, but when I get my own encrypted download link to provide more security, I get a very long download URL (I wish I can send a screenshot but I don't know how to do it) that usually goes for two lines long.
This can be a bit annoying for anyone to copy or click to. How can I shorten my encrypted URL so that it displays like a standard URL link but is actually encrypted?
How Can I Shorten an Encrypted Download URL
Here I mentioned some steps that must be solve your problem. Just follow the steps and probably you can get relief. I said probably, because you have to make sure that every step you can follow properly and goes fine.
A download request from a client validated the download validation script. It also carry on by client. So it’s totally unknown for the client what is the actual location of the file.
First you have to click on this link here you can find the way. Here a file in the view directory, you can see name “custom_download.php”. Just copy this file to the targeted location.
You have to rename the file from “custom_download.php” to “download.php”. Then update the value “Download Validation Script Location” from the settings menu to the targeted dictionary. After that open the just copied file and renamed.
Here the other way to solve this problem. Go to any URL shortening website like- Owly, Bit.ly, Tiny or Doiop (see Resources), Google URL shortener. Just type your longer download link, and then entered the catchy. At last click on the shorten button. You can also solve this problem by this above mentioned way.
