I am a normal user on a computer, meaning I browse the net, my kids would play games, etc. Lately I noticed that my PC performance is somewhat sluggish. Also a few notification errors have popped-up. I am thinking of buying a software for registry cleaning. Do you have any suggestions on what brand should I buy?

Is it just me or is there something with Windows 7? It would not show the "Shared Icon" in a shared folder. Can you try it and give me a review?

I have two questions. First is regarding a notification which appears every day saying that I did not yet performed a scan on my computer. Is this a bug or virus on my computer? I perform a scan everyday. By the way, I am using MSE. I did not have this problem since I started using it from about a year ago. My second question would be why is that I have not received any new updates from Windows Update?

How should I configure Windows 7 not to shutdown automatically? I found out that when you restart Windows 7 as the default setting, it would be a security risk which can be the reason for widespread loss of data and also defects. I do a back-up during the evening and copy a large database. However, my computer automatically shuts down since this is the default setting on my Win7.

What step-by-step procedure should I follow to prevent this from happening again?

My hard drive has different partitions and I recently installed WDP. It says that the installation was successful. However, Whenever I revert to Windows 7, it won't run. I tried all the repairing options but all to no avail. I read that I am not the only one with this problem but I haven't read one that showed a solution.

For my OS, I trust Linux that's why I use it most of the time. However, whenever I switch on my computer with vista, the new firewall would show me a notification which shows that consent.exe needs TCP (outgoing). Why is this so? I tried to search for answers in the net and found out that there are people who have problems like mine. Why would it need to enter the net? Do you know where this is coming from?

Should I block these as a general practice?

I tried repairing some issues with my video card and used methods that I have acquired from searching the internet. Apparently, it worsened the situation because now I am just getting a stop error whenever I turn on my machine. I ran the troubleshoot program and it indicated that I do not have a video card, could the video card be broken or should I just remove and restore the program again?

It takes me a while longer to open a folder in my portable computer that has the latest Windows operating system and processor installed. The size of the folder is quite big consisting of a thousand files. The folder eventually opens, but I would like to ask if this is really what happens given the circumstances or is this a problem that I need to resolve?

The following error message pop ups on my Windows 7 computer when I try to play a .TS file: The decompression codec cannot decompress to an RGB format. This is very unusual. Check that any "Force YUY2" options are not enabled in the codec's properties.

I have tried checking and un-checking the “Directly decode uncompressed YCbCr (YUY) sources” option under Options Preferences which never made any difference. I am also unable to load a .MTS file format as it is not listed in the file type. If I upload it by selecting “List all files”, I am receiving the below message: “The file "F:V-dubTest2.MTS" is of unknown or unsupported file type. ” I think both the errors are related.
