I am curious to know whether Windows 8 is already available. Can we buy it now? Also, I have a notion that we are excluded from the updates. Can we have the updates for Win8 such that our developer preview would be f.ex Win8 ultima? Any comments?
Windows 8 is the newest addition to the Microsoft Windows family. The development of Windows 8 starts just before Windows 7 was released in 2009. Windows 8 will be release to manufacturing by August 1, 2012 and will be released for general availability on October this year. If you want to have a copy of it, you need to wait until it is finally available in the Microsoft website. But not unless it is available, I suggest not to purchase from any store yet. It is still best to buy it from where it truly belongs.
If you are running Windows 7 and you want to install Windows 8, Upgrade Assistant will be present on Windows 8 to check if your computer meets the system requirements. You need to run this assistant before you can purchase and download Windows 8 over the Internet. And as soon as it becomes available, you can also buy the windows 8 upgrade on DVD on some retail store.
