Hello everyone.
I really need help with the Windows update page. Whenever I visit this page and click on the Scan for updates button I never get these updates and I can't download any of them. The percentage meter never moves even for a single percent and my updates are never checked.
Can someone please tell me what is the problem and how to fix it.

My computer restarts itself whenever I try to open it. It does not load the Windows operating system. Instead, it displays an error message saying that there must have been recent changes in my hardware or software, but as far as I know, I haven't done anything to it.
I have tried running the system in Safe Mode, but this does not solve the problem. What could be the problem, and how am I supposed to fix this? I'm guessing that this must be a BIOS problem. These are the specifications of my computer:
Operating system: Windows XP
System type: 32-bit
Processor: Intel Core i3 M 380 @2.53GHz
Installed memory (RAM): 2GB

Earlier I had Win Vista with MS Office 2007 installed on it for two or more years. Whenever I would open the Outlook, it would always check for new E-mails. Now I have installed Windows 7 along with the Ms Office 2007. Now, whenever I open Outlook, it doesn’t do the same i.e. check for new E-mails. I have to check my new E-mails by enabling the option ‘send/receive’.
Please help me to activate the same option on Windows 7 as well.
