I hope you all are doing well. I am here to ask a technical question in relation with an issue. Maybe my question ought to be not asked in as technical manners as it might have to be but I still need to ask it here. Actually, the issue (for which I have to ask question) has been faced by me for several hours and the issue is I have forgotten my Windows XP user account’s password and I am not been able to recover it till yet.

I am using Microsoft Window XP and eventually I don’t remember the password of my account which I had created. I have tried re-memorizing my memory and many other tricks to get rid of this problem but no success has been achieved by me in this matter.

I hope everybody here is fine! My name is Hassy and I am here to find solution for an issue (which is being faced by me). I have IBM machine and there is windows XP SP2 installed on it. My computer has got an empty control panel (I don’t know why?). I mean to say that whenever I open the control panel from my computer or even from start menu it appears blank.

There is nothing in my control panel (e. g. icons, label etc) and due to this issue I am not been able to do monitoring of my pc. To solve this problem I have done lot of things including Google search etc but none of them has helped me in this case so far.

I bought a new computer and I'm using Windows 7 in it.

The problem is , I forgot the password of my account. How can I recover the password? I don't have any valuable data, in my new PC but  I still want to recover it,  without re-installing Windows. Is it possible ?

I am confused about what could be the problem with it? I first thought it was the VGA cable that was bad but I have tried using different VGA cables but it has not solved the problem. At first the monitor used to work properly but one time there was a power blackout and the monitor switched off abruptly but when the power came back I switched on the computer. Only to find the display colour of the TFT screen had changed to reddish. I tried adjusting the display colours using the TFT buttons provided but it didn’t solve the problem. What could be the problem? Someone with an idea?

I have recently upgraded my Ubuntu desktop to unity. But the look and feel in not of my type, seriously. The desktop workspace switching is, good kids eye candy but not pleasing my old eyes. How do I remove this animation and just get a simple quick switch.

My cousin passed me this Dell INSPIRON 6000 laptop. But I think it needs to be reformatted. That's why I did. But then I installed win 7, not all of the features were working. No WIFI (The adapter is the Intel Pro/wireless 2200 bg), audio (sigmatel audio driver), and Bluetooth connection and etc. I did this, because I knew that win 7 has its own drivers.

But now I knew I was wrong. win 7 is not complete pack for all the previous drivers of computer features.

I have used Windows 98 and Windows Me but never found the tools that give me the access to check the DirectX version.

Now I am using Windows XP and still i don't know where to find that tool to check my DirectX version.

And I intend to use Windows Seven in future.

So I want to know How can I check My DirectX version in windows XP.

At first answer me this question and then I will like to know about the same thing how to do in Windows seven.

For more help I am now using windows XP professional and service pack 2.

In my laptop there is a built in Graphic adapter  which from ATI Radeon 9600 series.

This picture shows the properties of the driver. As My laptop is Much older now so i need some update for my Video drive.

I need assistance to find the correct driver for my laptops Graphics driver. please give me some reference where i can find those drivers.

Can you tell me how much help can those new driver do for my Laptop?? I am now using Windows XP so i needs drivers that supports Windows XP not any Operating system. And also my current system is 32-bit so i think some thing that supports 32-bit will be helpful for me.

I am a Linux user, my desktop is "Ubuntu 10.04".

I have downloaded and installed, “Tropical” theme from here.

All the changes are fine, but the background and Login screen is not updated.

Any idea why? Am I missing something ?

Hi,

I'm using a PC for the last 2 years. It worked fine then.  But recently I'm having a big problem. Sometimes my PC just hangs up and shows a blue screen with some error message with it.

I am posting part of it here:

“A problem has been detected and windows has been shutdown to prevent damage to your computer

The problem seems to be caused by the following file: SPCMDCON.SYS…….”

How can I resolve this annoying trouble ?
