Am using a 3g modem to access internet on my computer. Its working great on windows operating system but whenever i try to connect it into linux its not detecting it as a modem only the removable storage medium is detected by the linux.

The green light is blinking on my usb which shows that modem is getting signals but its not detected as a modem in linux.

I tried using wvdialconf command to configure it automatically which i use everytime for my mobile device to get automatically configured in linux but still its not configuring it.

Can i use any type of software to get it detected as my windows software which comes along with the modem is useless in linux.

Modem : 3g Modem

Which is much better? A SATA or an IDE Hard drive? And why?

Yesterday, I went to a computer store to buy a hard drive for my computer. When I was at the store, I forgot to list down the system specifications of my computer. I was standing while waiting for my turn into the information where you will ask the specific product that you're looking for. When it was already my turn, I asked the saleslady what hard drive was the most saleable in their store. And the saleslady said, that the "SATA" hard drive was the one. And then, I suddenly remember the specific hard drive for my computer and that's a "SATA" hard drive.

I am here to check out how to solve a mouse jumping problem, since that disturbs me a lot when typing my mails and even when I am offline, while typing in Microsoft Works. I am not too techyv to do some troubleshooting on my own. Because of this problem, I intend to not take my laptop for official use on this condition. So really looking for someone to help.

Hi,

I am using a laptop at home and my Antivirus is Norton 2009. This Antivirus needs to update through the internet. My friend inserted her flash drive for copying a file from my computer. A virus detected on my computer. I scanned the flash drive as well as the computer, but the virus is still there! It's the Trojan virus which was detected on my computer. I fully scanned the computer but still the virus is in there. How can the virus be removed from the computer? Apart from formatting the computer, what else can we do to remove the virus? Is there any other software that can fully remove the virus? Answer please. Thanks.

I have a pen drive of 8 GB which I use to boot my damn small Linux. after installing this distribution to my pen drive its saying that 5 GB space is allocated whereas the distribution size is approximately 50-70 Mb. When I try to copy -paste file on my flash drive it says no space left & I am not able to copy anything in it. I have some more portable applications on my flash drive like Firefox and thunderbird which I use to synchronize my mails and for other stuff.

Hello People,

Nice to meet you! I just installed Linux mint. Somehow I managed to get my ATI card drivers installed in which is a bit complicated to install in Ubuntu based Linux distributions attest for new users like me. I am trying to login as root/admin but I can't do that from the login screen. I don't know what's the problem. Is it ok if I manage to use some file manager to access my songs and images and use auto-mounting using root. but not with terminal/console?

I am using Microsoft windows xp professional edition. I am good in customizing my desktop for better look and feel. I followed a tutorial showing me how to replace my boot screen using bootskin software. That software worked for me then i followed another tutorial on manually creating boot up screen of my own. I followed up the tutorial and edited ntoskrnl.exe file with resource intruder to change the screen shot.

I tried creating a 8 bit color file and added it into my ntoskrnl.exe file
I tried to replace the file using safe mode as well as in normal mode but whenever i replace file i doesn't work for me.

It still showing me the old bootup screen.
