I am here to check out how to solve a mouse jumping problem, since that disturbs me a lot when typing my mails and even when I am offline, while typing in Microsoft Works. I am not too techyv to do some troubleshooting on my own. Because of this problem, I intend to not take my laptop for official use on this condition. So really looking for someone to help.

Even I have faced this problem and I have followed a series of troubleshooting that have solved the problem. So let’s fix this right away. The factors that cause this problem may be because of touchpad Settings, touchpad Lock, Driver. So when we just check this out one by one we may find a solution. First we start checking the settings. To check for the mouse settings go to Start then click on Control panel and then click on Mouse.

You may see new window properties. In the same window you may find a set of Tabs at the top of the window. In that select Pointer options. When you click on that. Just below that you may see all the settings that pertains to the mouse sensitivity. In that mainly check out for the Pointer speed. Make sure Adjust the slider to the middle. Then check whether the problem exists. If yes then we may move on to check for the touch pad lock option.

Every laptop will for sure will have a touch pad lock. Check out which key is that and try to click the touchpad and then try typing if you say this problem arises only during typing since there are some chances for your hang to play on the touchpad unknowingly. The final option would be to check from our side would be to update the Touchpad driver.

You can try changing the touchpad driver on the same window where you where checking out the Pointer speed but under the Hardware Tab. In that select the touch pad and then click on the properties button. There you may see a Tab named as Drivers. Click on that and now click on Update. Make sure this time you need to be connected to the Internet.

It will search for a latest update. And update your current Touchpad driver. Most of the time the driver updating will solve the problem. If still not go kindly contact your manufacturer for support. Hope my time on providing solution would have been helpful to you.
