Windows firewall is inactive -cannot fix problem

Hello,

A security message has recently popped up on the screen and shows that windows firewall is inactive.

I do not how to activate it either. It is a security related problem so I am little worried right now.

I tried to find the solution via the internet, but I could not find out.

Please help me to solve this problem.

Hey Matth!

The name of firewall describes its meaning itself.

It is a wall of fire that block the user of other network to enter into your PC.

Basically Firewall works with a router program closely, which examines whether to forward each network packet towards its destination or not.

To turn firewall on follow these steps:

Method 1:

1. Click Start > Run and type, Firewall.cpl and press enter.

2. A new window will open, under General Tab click on "On (recommended)" and your firewall is on.

Method 2:

1. Open Control Panel > Windows Firewall.

2. A new window will open, under General Tab click on "On (recommended)" and your firewall is on.

Hi there, 

You haven't specified which OS you are using either Windows 7 or Windows XP.

Assuming you have Windows 7.

To activate or deactivate windows firewall follows my steps carefully: – 

1. Go to Start and then click Control panel.

2. In the coming box click Windows firewall and something like this pops up.

3. Click on Turn windows Firewall on or off link on the left of the box that appeared. 

4. Now something like this pops up: – 

5. Click on Turn on windows firewall to successfully turn on or turn off windows firewall to turn it off.

It was very easy!

I go to windows firewall and click on.

And finished!

My windows firewall is working.
