I am already using windows 32 bit. But I want to upgrade it to 64 bit of windows 7. Is this possible to upgrade my operating system from windows 32 bit to 64 bit of windows 2007 or vice versa? If possible please tell me how I can do it?
Windows 32 bit to 64 bit of windows 2007
You cannot upgrade from 32 bit to 64 bit of windows 7. Although there are several ways to run your computer on 64 bit but you cannot simply upgrade from 32 bit to 64 bit. To run your computer on 64 bit windows you will have to follow the following instructions.
-
You will need to buy a new disk containing the 64 bit version of windows 7.
-
Backup all your important data as everything except the default factory settings will be wiped clean.
-
Now clean install the windows using the 64 bit disk you have bought.
-
Remember clean install is not same as FORMAT and INSTALL. In format and install you lose everything on your hard drive.
-
Clean installation moves existing System files to a folder name Previous System, then installs a new copy of OS .You cannot start up your computer using the Previous System folder.
I hope this helps.
