I am deciding to get a new printer. I want a home printer that can be used for business as well. I am not sure whether to get an inkjet printer or a laser printer. I would like to know which one can I use that will make more savings in the long run. Which one would be better?Â
Which is best, an inkjet printer or a laser printer?
Â
Hi!Â
Â
It depends on the purpose that you intend to do. If your printing activity is not in bulk then inkjet printer is cheaper; otherwise, a laser is cheaper. You can do estimates by the knowing the rate of printing each cartridge yield whether laser or cartridge.
Â
Inkjet cartridges purge their nozzles to avoid clogging. This means that there is a waste of ink in a very small scale. The laser does not do that.Â
Â
Normally, for simple printing, the manufacturers cover 15% of the page for inkjet while 20% of laser. For color documents, around 30 % coverage. At your level, the printing it is 3 to 4 times higher.
Â
This is the reason why inkjet is good, Â in small printing. But if you are running a small business that uses printer many times, a laser printer is appropriate.
