SnapManager for Exchange backup fails

I have a Microsoft Exchange Server 2003, that has LUNS from NetApp storage. I am using SnapManager for Exchange and backup is scheduled everyday. Last night the backup failed with the following error:

*****BACKUP DETAIL SUMMARY*****

The backup group sets #1:

Backup SG [First Storage Group] Error: VSS API Error Description: VSS_E_UNEXPECTED_PROVIDER_ERROR

*****BACKUP RESULT SUMMARY*****

The backup group sets #1:

Backup SG [First Storage Group]: Failed

Backup failed.

Error code 0x8004230F, please check SnapManager report and event logs for details.

Please help.

SnapManager for Exchange backup fails

Hi,

In this case you can use some software for Exchange and backup. With Microsoft Exchange Server 2003 that have LUNS from NetApp storage you can use this software BackupAssistance easily.

This is really simple to install and use. You can install it as other software. May be you will find a trail version of Backup Assistance. To get a full version of Backup Assistance you need to buy this software. Then install this software and run.

You will find this type of box.
