Hi,

I have a cyber cafe with 10 computer network connected with scanner and printer. First time it works fine with the printer and scanner, but if I shut down all my computers and start them over again then the printer  works fine but the scanner command is not working.

What could the problem be?

Thanks all.

Scanner command problem over networking

Roquib007,

I assume you have a network server. Make sure you also have an updated driver software. You may also want to check the cable from scanner to computer.

Once you installed scanner in your server, you can easily share it to other computers. Right click on the scanner icon and share. Then log on to one of your computers and click  "My Network Places". Select your "Server" computer and find the icon of your scanner. Click and allow installation. Do this to all of your remaining computers.

Try to reboot now and there you can access your scanner, whichever computer you will use.

If your scanner is network ready, then you must specify the correct IP address of the scanner. Once you assign an ip to your scanner, install it's driver in each computer. You can see the scanner icon for the entire network by going to "My Network Places" just like seeing the other 10 computers in the network. Just click it and there the installation starts immediately.
