What you do is correct but you don't mention error or something input how you can't connect. So the thing that I thought was that you can’t browse your CP from your computer. There might be problem to your cable or to your pc suit. You need to check the cable if it is working, you will know that if your cable is connected if you can see your device to list of drives connected to your computer which is in "My computer".  Just be sure that you have latest pc suite installed to your cp. If you can’t connect there might something problem to your device.

Heloo Kathie,

Thank for posting your questions here. With regards to your problem as what I see there is something wrong with the cord you are using or on the phone itself. One solution for this is just use card reader this will surely read the files you save on it. When you insert the card reader to the computer click on my computer and look for the name of the memory card. Then you can do whatever you want download games, songs, applications and etc.

I hope this will help you.

Solution is right, I described connecting your cell phone to your PC via USB cable. However, there is another way; Bluetooth. This will work in precisely the same was as a USB cable in terms of transferring data but it eliminates the need for a cable (I’m told many budget phones are being shipped without USB cables).

You’ll need two things for this to work:

1.    A Bluetooth-enabled computer. Most laptops now have Bluetooth and so do some desktops. If yours doesn’t, you can buy a USB Bluetooth adapter cheaply on sites such as EBay.

2.    A Bluetooth-enabled mobile phone.

If your Nokia N72 cannot connect to your computer even after installing the Nokia PC suite, try downloading the Nokia Suite from Microsoft. It supports Windows XP, Windows Vista, Windows 7, and Windows 8.x. I think this is the same Nokia PC Suite that users install from the Nokia website but the most comprehensive version since the Nokia phone was acquired by Microsoft.

Nokia N72

Try this version because it supports all Nokia phones from the oldest up to the newest Microsoft Lumia phones. If this, too, doesn’t work, you probably need to check the cable you are using. Try using a different cable and see if there’s a difference.

To test if the cable works, connect your Nokia N72 to a different computer that doesn’t have the Nokia Suite or Nokia PC Suite using the USB cable. The computer should be able to detect an unknown or unsupported device. If you see a similar message appear on the system tray after connecting the phone that means the cable is fine.

But if no message appeared that means the cable has a problem. Use a different cable or buy a new USB cable for your phone.
