Outlook Error when sending Emails

Asked By 0 points N/A Posted on -

I have the following error message when sending e-mail with my Outlook 2007: “Sending' reported error (0x80042109) : 'Outlook cannot connect to your outgoing (SMTP) e-mail server. If you continue to receive this message, contact your server administrator or Internet service provider (ISP).” The settings are properly configured because I checked it in other PC. I checked the settings for Outlook then compared it with mine. The firewall settings in my Windows 7 permit Outlook. What can I do?

Outlook Error when sending Emails

This error messages Sending reported error 0x80042109 is caused by settings on Outlook Express. If its accompanied by error time out of this email client, then it's caused by security software. There are ways to fix this issue, either by calling your ISP or the settings on Outlook.

Here's how;

Go to Start then Open Outlook email
Click Tools then Email Account
Select View or change existing email accounts
Click the Next button
Highlight the Pop3 account and then Change
Make sure the SMTP is correct (contact your ISP for this information)
Go to More Settings then Advanced tab
Uncheck SSL and set the Outgoing ports to 587 or 25

Some Internet Service Provider does not support 3rd party email to use there server for sending. You maybe using a 3rd party email and is using your Internet Connection at home. Or the other way around, you are using Internet connection from someone else, and the Outgoing server is configured to work at home or the same server as your Internet Provider at home.

Outlook Error when sending Emails

You are saying right that you have seen the settings. And they are same on both computers.

  1. Remove all settings from the Pc which is giving sending error.
  2. Now go to working Pc and copy paste all settings to word and just copy paste settings.
  3. Actually sometimes there are human errors and in this way all will be avoided.
  4. Now there are two hidden options, you have to do that also.
  5. My server requires authentication tab must be checked.
  6. Use same settings as in working pc.
  7. The error codes you have mentioned belong with this area. Now it must be working.
