I would just like to ask something. Is the new cloud storage from Google which is Google Drive downloadable? What OS will be compatible with it?

Is the new Google Drive Downloadable?

The rumors and reports around us make us believe that the Google Drive may bring 5 GB free storage for PCs, Smartphones and tablets.

According to leaked screenshot it can be easily presumed that the Google Drive will be a downloadable software which means it can be accessed from computers, Smartphones and laptops.

Once the user has set it up using Google Account, all files uploaded can be accessed anywhere through. But it would be interesting to see their charges to buy more online storage space other than the 5 GB free storage.

Google Drive

As Google Drive is a place to store 100% of User Data, anyone can save all user files, including: emails, web history, pictures, bookmarks, etc.

According to Google itself, it is accessible from anywhere (any device, any platform, etc), so you don’t need to have any particular OS.

Yes, Google Drive is downloadable both in the old and the new version. When you download and install Google Drive on your computer, you must be running Windows XP, Widows Vista, Windows 7, or Windows 8. For Mac, it supports Mac OS X 10.7 Lion, 10.8 Mountain Lion, and 10.9 Mavericks.

Unfortunately, the download version of Google Drive is not yet available for Linux but Linux users can still access Google Drive from the web. The Android and iOS version of Google Drive supports Android 4.0 or higher and iOS 7.0 or higher. Mobile devices with outdated operating systems like Android 2.3 – 3.2 and iOS 6.0 or higher can still use Google Drive but is only limited to viewing of the files.

You will not be able to edit the files on your Google Drive until you update your phone’s operating system. If you are already using the new Google Drive on your web browser, you can download it by clicking on the gear icon located on the upper right corner of the screen just below your profile photo then select Download Drive.
