Hello!

I hope everyone's having a good time, and I hope someone here can help me out with my problem. While I was scanning, editing, and saving my entire family photo gallery, I somewhat managed to save multiple copies of the same photos. When I tried to copy, replace and delete these duplicate photos, I received the following error: “Windows Explorer has encountered a problem and needs to close." In my own opinion, I think that this has something to do with a .dll file, and I tried to apply the shellxview program to sort this problem out. While this solution worked for quite a while, I am now getting another error, which is as follows:

Hello,

I've read your problem and I am very positive that your problem is related to your computer being infected by a virus, or that some of the windows file are corrupted. As for the virus infection, you should use some of the online scanning programs.

If your PC has passed these scans then there is a great possibility that you have corrupted Windows file. In order to fix this, and at the same time keep your current programs and settings while replacing all of the corrupted files that have been preventing your Windows to operate effectively, I suggest you repair your installation of Windows.

You should also visit Windows Update after you're done with your system repair in order to reapply the updates that were changed by the repair installation.

This should do the trick.

Hello Sopatrick,

The first solution to a Windows Explorer Error is ShellExView. Since you tried it already and still have an error,  your computer might be infected with virus or spyware.

Another cause of Windows Explorer crashes is the existence of virus or spyware. I advised you to scan your computer through online virus scan.

Hi guys, Thanks for your advices. I scanned my computer for viruses and yes, it is infected. My antivirus has detected several viruses in my unit. I did manage to remove the threats. Well anyway thanks again for the big help. cheers!
