I'm trying hard to figure out what seems to be the problem with my computer. I cannot run MS-DOS (command prompt-i'm using to check my connection settings) and other Microsoft Windows applications. It's always telling me to close/terminate my application. Please, I need your help… I'm already running out of solutions to my problem.

Hi there Mitchell, well, I can see that you're having issues with some files like "config.nt", "autoexec.nt" or "command.com" are maybe missing or damaged. So, to be able to restore these files to their original format, you can expand the files from your Microsoft Windows XP or 2000 restore CD. If you don't have the Windows restore CD, you can repair those files manually from the repair directory.Â
Hope this helps.

I tried using the CD first, you said I need to use that to be able to fix the error. I don't know what to do after I insert the CD in. I'm quite confuse now. Hope you could help me more.

If you're using the CD MItchell, after inserting it, run command prompt and type this: expand D:i386autoexec.nt_c:windowssystem32autoexec.nt ; expand D:i386config.nt_c:windowssystem32config.nt ; expand D:i386command.co_c:windowssystem32command.com. You should see a message that those files has already been copied successfully.

Well thanks, It's working way better now. The error's not interrupting me now while using MS-DOS and other Microsoft Windows application. I'll still try to observe it. Also, I'd like to know, how about I already lost my CD, how can I do it manually. Thanks and God Bless!

Hi There,
If you don't have the CD anymore you can copy those files from the repair folder. Open command prompt again, then type this:
cdwindowsrepair
copy autoexec.nt c:windowssystem32
copy config.nt c:windowssystem32
same as the above solution, you should be prompted if those are successfully copied.

Thanks for all the tips and help. From now on I'll be able to fix this issue just in case it would happen again in the future. God Bless to you both. I hope you could help me out again just in case I have other issues.
