If you are going to do a system recovery on your system, you may do so without recovery discs. That is provided that the recovery partition on your hard drive is not damaged. For systems that came with Windows Vista, you might want to try pressing on F11 continuously to see if you can access the recovery information from the hard drive. If you are not able to access the said screen, and still cannot create a copy of your system’s recovery disc, then you will have to order it from HP. Make sure though that you have taken note of your system’s model number so that the HP support team will be able to match it to the right recovery disc that you need. It may not be free though. You can also create a recovery disc online if you have other ways of accessing the internet.
