Hello,

I have a problem with explorer.exe. When I connect an external hard drive (USB) to my PC, a problem I do not know, meet on my laptop.

I come all the way to access folders on my hard drive, but after a short time I have a message telling me that explorer.exe has encountered a problem and needs to close. Sometimes I can still continue to access my files, sometimes it closes the outline of my hard drive.

I tried on two different USB ports and also have no problem with them when I connect other USB devices. In advance thank you to tell me how to solve this problem.

Your system is not protected that's all I can say but you have to protect your system.

Solution 1:

Make sure that you have an anti virus installed in your computer and then update it to its latest virus definition. But make sure that you have an anti virus that is genuine. If you have a genuine Microsoft operating system, install Microsoft Security Essentials. It is an anti virus compatible for Windows XP and up version of Microsoft operating system.

Solution 2:

Reformat your computer, that is the most safe way to avoid anymore data loss and file corruption. Make sure to make a backup of every important file that you have or else you will have a difficult time recovering it.
