My Google Chrome is constantly crashing and it is hard to finish writing the work I need to for school. I tried to look up the problem and it might be a malware issue.  How can I get rid of any malware on my computer? Did this come from Google or a website I was on?

If you suspect you have a malware running on your computer that’s why your web browser always crashes, update your antivirus then run a full system scan on your computer. Make sure the System Volume Information folder which is located on the root of every drive is also scanned. It is a hidden system folder and you need to unhide hidden folders to be able to see it.

Worms and Trojans often hide on this folder since it contains the computer’s restore points. Another way of finding a stealthily malware is to use the Sophos Virus Removal Tool. This utility is best used on computers that are completely infected. You don’t need to uninstall your current antivirus. It works alongside your current antivirus.

The Sophos Virus Removal Tool supports Windows XP Service Pack 2 and higher operating systems. When installing this utility, make sure you are connected to the internet because the program requires internet connection. When running the program, it will always update its virus database. This utility is only good for 2 months and will expire after that. If you want to continue using it, you need to download the latest version again.
