I am using Hewlett Packard 1100A (Printer, Copier, Scanner) an old version printer. Copier & printer are working absolutely perfect but the scanner is not working. Let me know how to fix the problem?

Usually HP laser doesn’t need any device driver to be installed because it automatically detects and update it.

But if your operating system didn’t retrieve it you can download a driver directly from the internet.

As your printer and copier are working properly means there is no issue of device driver. It is already installed. You have not mentioned what operating system you are using?

Since, you are using an old model. There may be an issue of operating system. Keep in mind laser jet 1100A scanner can support windows 98 operating system and it is not forward compatible.

Means you cannot find it worthy over windows upgrading versions of the operating system.

You can have another option of using an HP laser 1100A scanner. You need to install two operating systems on your hard drive. Both operating systems can be installed in a single partition. First is according to printer requirement and another would be of your choice. Remember you can log in to only one operating system at a time.

Now it’s up to your discretion which operating system you want to log into. If you want to scan a document through HP 1100A then log in to windows 98 otherwise log in to another operating system you have installed.  If the scanner is still not working then there may be a hardware issue. The scan button at the forehead of the printer must be checked.
