Hello,
I was trying to open IE 7 when an error message said that the application was not valid.
I have been using it since and wondered why this error suddenly popped up.
I am used to IE and don’t want to use any other browser.Â
Any advice on how to resolve the issue?
See below the error message I got.
Windows
Internet Explorer is not a valid win32 application.

This is a virus related problem. Because it might have removed you Internet Explorer in your computer system.
Solution 1:
You can always try download the Internet Explorer 7 again the internet and just simply install it on your computer. You have a Firefox browser as I ca see in your image at top. Download it there and then install.
Solution 2:
You can also just reformat your system or just repair it to have the Internet Explorer back but with lower version. Then just simply update your operating system to download the latest Internet Explorer available for windows XP and that is Internet Explorer 8.

It is ironically that you don’t want to use other browser, but you have installed Mozilla Firefox in your desktop.
By the way,you can repair your system using the original installer. There are so many articles or cases here in Techyv about repairing your operating system using the installation disk. Just have a time on searching for it.
You can also try to system restore your computer.
The best thing to do is to download the Microsoft Internet Explorer Installer from the Microsoft Website and install it in your computer. This also helps you to fix the problem. More better if you download the latest version.
But you know what?
I suggest use Firefox. Better than Internet Explorer.
More faster and reliable.

Hi John,
Try running system restore because this problem might be arising due some programs that you might have installed.
To find system restore when you are using windows 7, just go to start and type system restore, it will appear as follows then press enter.
If system restore does not fix the problem, then the other cause could be that internet explorer is being blocked by a firewall that you might have installed. If this is the case, just go to the control panel and remove that firewall.
Try using internet explorer and see what the response is.
Not working yet, get a newer version of internet explorer and install it. See if it works.
Hope this helps.

Lee Hung.
