Hey, guys!

The Sun server, which I use, has four processors. I was wondering whether the load on server will be shared to all four processors and how would I know whether it got shared?

Help needed. Thank you.

Of course, the load on the CPU is being shared between the processors. The task is done automatically and does not need to be assigned to each individual processor on how much load should each of them be getting. In Windows XP, you can check the amount of load each processor is handling by pressing CTRL + SHIFT + ESC. This will open the Windows Task Manager. I don’t know with your server. Try adapting the shortcut to your server to open its Task Manager.

The amount of load also depends on the amount of physical RAM that is currently installed on the CPU. The more RAM your computer has, the lesser burden would be to the processor because everything is loaded in the memory and it doesn’t need much processing. Unlike with lesser RAM, the processors do much processing because the available RAM memory is very limited.
