Could Not Continue with IRS 5.5 Auto Installation

I’ve been trying to install HP Insight Remote Support Software 5.5. The installation seems to be going fine until I clicked on the box for credentials so I can make an auto installation. I used our domain names and my account with administrator privileges. When I click on the Next button, the CMD window prompted following with error as posted below. I tried searching this issue but I couldn’t find anything that will help me fix my problem. I’m using Windows 2008 Server SP2 x86. Thanks.

Could Not Continue with IRS 5.5 Auto Installation

Hello there,

I actually got the same exact problem few weeks ago and it really ruin my day. Mine is caused by the too-long hostname. The IRS can recognize hostname within 15 letters only and you need an account with local administrator's rights for this operation. The problem was resolved in the end by having the local machine Administrators account added to the user account I was using. It then worked so it does appear to have been privileges but I don't have access to accounts and privileges so don't know what made the difference.

I really hope it will work for you too so that you can solve your problem. Feel free to message me if you have further questions and I'll be happy to help you out.
