I have been using zend studio 5.5 with my windows 7. However, my OS had a major change to windows XP. Can I retain my Zend studio 5.5 even with changed OS?

That depends where you installed your zend studio and if you have partitions on your drive. Most likely your zend studio is installed on the same partition as your operating system so if you installed a new OS your zend was already uninstalled along with your previous OS.
But if it was installed on a different partition from your operating system then it would most probably be retained on your computer.
Your computer fully supports the software requirements and i am sure that you will be able to use the software also in this case as most programs that uses window XP platform are also executable on win 7. You just need to reinstall the program to make it effective.
