I tried to install Ubuntu 11.04 OS on my PC using a USB flash drive. I want it to remain inside my current OS, Windows XP. As it is a home PC, I am concerned whether or not the other computer users in my family would like it, which is the reason I wanted it to run inside my current OS. As per the instructions, I proceeded with the install process but the following error message interrupted it:
 “Cannot download the metalink and therefore the ISO”.

 Please check the screenshots for details and let me know how to deal with this problem.

In order to convert tons of mathematics and physics documents to PDF for my students, I have purchased ‘Omnipage 17 Pro’.

I am facing a problem which is, ‘Omnipage’ is not showing most of the symbols in the documents.

When I want to edit those symbols, it is making me mad.

All documents are having lot of symbols and it will take a lot of time to edit.

So I am looking for help to add character set in ‘Omnipage’, when the symbols are not available in the default character set.

Please help me to get out of this problem.

Ubuntu Intrepic 8.10 is my operating system and I am having trouble with my gnome panel.

As I click the right mouse button at the top of the gnome panel and then go to properties, the attached message pops-up saying “The folder contents could not be displayed.

Error stating file ‘/tmp/evince-6347’: No such file or directory”.

If I close the error message, the properties window shows ‘Some of these properties are locked down.’

Do you have any suggestions as it is quite troublesome for me.

I worked with Mac OS X Leopard before until I tried upgrading it to Fusion version 1.1. However, after completing the upgrade process, my operating system suddenly failed to operate.

It prompted the message: ‘The application failed to initialize properly (0x0000005). Click on Ok to terminate the application’. Has any one encountered this error? I need your help on this.

I have recently installed ‘SmartQ V5 Android 2.1 MOD’ firmware on my SmartQ Android device.

After successfully installing the firmware, an error message popped-up (See attached screenshot). Unfortunately, I cannot download the firmware from the Android website. And also, I tried flashing my Android’s ROM three times, but still, the same result. Do you have any suggestions for this case?

We were using HP Digital Sending Software (DSS) to distribute electronic documents via email. 

However, while doing my usual task of distribution via email, I got this error message (see below). 

I tried contacting our remote tech support guys but I couldn’t reach them so I searched for a forum.

I was on my usual task of emailing invoices to our clients via our Sage Simply Accounting system when I randomly got this error message.

Well, we just upgraded to a newer version, which I believe had an impact to this error.  Anyway, our tech support reinstalled the new version but I still got the same error message. 

Any advice on how to resolve the issue?

This transaction could not be processed because the company database could not be found, or the database engine is not running. If your company data is stored on a network computer, make sure that the network drive is accessible from your computer.

Simply accounting will now close. Any unsaved work will be lost

I just installed Sage Simply Accounting system software on my newly issued PC. 

I then tried opening the company’s database, but I got this error message (see below). 

As a long time user of this software, I knew I had the privilege to open the file.  Did I miss a step?
