Hard Drives

Hard Drives

I have a desktop computer on which the Windows version is 98. I tried to install Windows 2000 on it. During installation, installation has been stopped automatically. I shut down the computer and launched the installation again and the installation has been stopped again.

Then I plugged out the cables of the hard drive and my brother installed Windows 2000. After installation, I saw all files on my hard drive have been erased. Why did it happen? Is there any procedure to get my files back?

I am trying to clone my HP Envy 14 hard disk onto an identical 500 GB hard disk with Acronis True Image Home 11. The HP source disk has 3 partitions: one Windows 7, one basic drive & one hidden. I tried to clone it using Acronis Rescue Media as well tried to swap my target drive leaving the source drive on an external connection namely USB. But the result is the same “ Clone failed”.

Is there any solution for it?

Hello!

I'm new to your site. I have a hard drive which I am using at this moment and it had bad sectors. But I cleared them using "Hard Drive Regenerator 2011".

Now it is working. But, when I try to copy some files into my pen drive, my computer automatically restarted. I have lots of important data to get. Help me to solve this.

Thanks.

I have a Windows XP Home Edition with 80 GB hard disk and 512 MB RAM. My C drive has less space available. I can not delete important data in it.

Please guide me how can I rearrange the drive spaces and increase their size.

I purchased an external hard drive and transferred some files from my Mac computer (OS X ver. 10.4.11). When I try to open the files on a Windows based computer, the hard drive is not detected and I cannot access any of the files.

I don't think the problem is with the files themselves. If I transfer the files onto a USB key, I am able to access them on both Mac and Windows.

What might be the issue and how can I resolve it?

I am using a 320 GB Samsung SATA hard drive for my desktop PC. I used it for the last two years. Recently it shows me a problem when I am using it. When I want to open a drive in the computer it shows, "The drive is not formatted. Do you want to format it now?"

After clicking on the OK button it says format completed. But when I want to reopen this, then same problems happen again and again. What can I do now?

I wanted to place the other 40GB hard disk into my system. After installation when I opened the system and booted it using Partition magic 8.0 the problem struck in which stated, "Cylinder range inconsistent in the hard drive. Do you want Partition Magic to fix it".

By putting my belief on Partition Magic 8.0 I pressed yes. After which I can see my whole data corrupted and an error message pops up saying, "Partition Table Error #110".

I could not fix the problem still. Can anyone help me through this.

I have need to configure the hard drive on a computer so that there appears to be one drive for the operating system and four drives for data from different applications. How can the hard drive be configured to provide this perception?

My Acer laptop doesn’t work anymore, it doesn’t boot up. Tech people said my hard drive was fried?

What does it mean?

Can I still retrieve my data and other important files in it?

Or it dead as in dead?

Thank you for your time.
