I just installed Windows 7 on my computer, my hard disk is 500 GB and there are two drives. The Windows drive i just installed Windows and few files, roughly I am using below 20 GB but my drive shows that I only have 1002 GB free space on my C drive.
Could you tell me why it is like that? and how to solve that?

I think your computer already has two Windows that you installed two times in other folders, which you did not remove by partition.
If there is one Windows and you are 100% sure, then I have to say that some of your software, games, and apps installed before are deleted from all programs and desktop, which is available on your Disk. Check out your disk by going to Control Panel and remove from the unexpected file.
I have this problem like I installed MS Word 10 and there I failed in some of the option to properly install and delete from All Programs and again installed Need For Speed (Most Wanted) but it did not recognize it. By the way I installed more than 5 or 6 items but in vain. Then my disk availability naturally became low and I could not understand what happened to me.

You must delete the temporary files on your hard disk. To go there click start. Run type this command “%temp”. Simply press enter. After that, open the temp folder. In this folder, select and delete all files at this location. You must delete from the recycle bin.
Also delete the temporary internet files and backup files from the hard disk. To go there, you must click my computer; right click on the disk drive, go to the properties and click disk clean up and delete also the old restoration data and delete the duplicate copies of the large files from the hard disk and lastly you must delete the uninstalled files for the windows update.
