POP 3 – 995 host is not able to find.

You are facing an Outlook setup problem. What mail are you installing in Outlook? Below I discuss the proper way to install a Gmail-account in account. Please read this and identify which part you did not set the settings in Gmail & Outlook.

Gmail & Outlook 2007 setup Example:

1. In your Gmail account, go to Mail settings > Click on Forwarding and POP. Click on the Enable POP for all mail option and click save settings.

2. Start Outlook 2007. Now, click Tools then Accounts. From E-mail Tab, Click New. Type your name, E-mail ID and Password and click next. Outlook will now set your account automatically. Click Finish.

3. Some Times the Auto Configuration options give many problems. You need to set the configuration manually. Start Outlook 2007. Now, click Tools then Accounts. From E-mail Tab, Click New.

Now instead of typing your name and account, click on the manually configure server settings & additional server types. Click Next. Choose the Internet-email then click Next. Type your name, E-mail address, account name & password. Fill up the text boxes with the following info:

• Account type: POP3.
• Incoming mail server: pop.gmail.com.
• Outgoing mail (SMTP): SMTP.gmail.com.
• Click the More Settings. Now, Click on the Outgoing Server Tab. Click/Check ‘My Outgoing Server SMTP requires authentication’. Next, click on the Advance tab & set the following info.
• Incoming server POP3: 995.
• Outgoing server SMTP: 587.
• You should check/Tick the box for “This server requires an encrypted connection” & encrypted connection to ‘Auto’. You can also change the Auto mode or to TLS if any error occurs.

After this setting is done, click the send/ receive button of Outlook menu. The Outlook will work smoothly.

Please note that, the example of setting I discussed is according to the Gmail account. If you have other mail account, the settings will be different. You have to collect the settings info from that mail service.
