Motherboard cannot correctly recognize CPU

My computer has ASUS Striker Extreme Motherboard and QX9650. My motherboard cannot get the full advantage of the sheer power of my CPU. So upon start-up, the computer state that BIOS must be updated to get the full advantage of the CPU.

However, when I updated (ASUS update utility) it states that there is no update to the BIOS available. Hence, the CPU runs 2.0GHz instead 3.0GHz. How can I renovate this problem?

Motherboard cannot correctly recognize CPU

Hi,

There is a problem with BIOS setup. User can modify or change the basic configuration of the system through a built in setup program in BIOS ROM. CMOS RAM preserves these hardware configuration information and supply power to CMOS RAM with a rechargeable battery when the computer is off.

BIOS read this information during booting. These are known as Power on Self Test (POST). This POST is activated during booting and verifies RAM, Processor, Math Co-Processor, Disk Drive, Display etc. So BIOS setup is necessary to recover your current problem.

Note that your all other components must be compatible with the current configuration.

 I hope you understand it.

Thanks
