Dear Questioner,

There can be several possibilities for your display problem.

1) Most probably your RAM is not perfectly situated on its slot, if so.

2) Then Check whether it is not supported with the Motherboard or not, if supported.

3) Then the RAM may be out of order because it the Ram is ok and plugged perfectly on Board at least the Motherboard's primary information’s should be displayed.

4) Your VGA card may have some problem.

You didn’t mentioned whether your monitor gets power or not, it may have some problem also.

Dear PaulaDZigler,

It seems your computer has troubles booting up. Here are some things that you can do to try to troubleshoot the problem:
  • Unplug the computer from the power strip.
  • While the computer is turned off, hold down the power button for 20 sec.
  • Plug it to the power source and turn it back ON.
The process you just did is called "Power Draining". There are times that there is static electricity in a computer's motherboard that holds it back from booting up.

When you plug in your computer, observe the display. It has an orange light on the bottom right that turns green or blue when your computer turns ON. If there is a hardware defect, it goes blue/green a bit and goes back to orange.

Lastly, observe how many times it beeps. A single beep would tell you that its ok. 2 Beeps would tell you that there's a problem with the Video card or RAM.
