I received an error when I tried to install daemon tools in my computer. The error I get is error code 2755. Did anyone encounter the same problem before? Please share some suggestions. Thank you.
To fix this problem follow:
1. Click on Start button and select Run. Type regedit in the Run.
2. Once you are in Registry find the key –
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESYSTEMCurrentControlSetEnumRootLEGACY_SPTD
Once you find this try to delete that key. If you are not able to delete, then right click on the folder and change the permission for that folder. In the security tab grant full control to “everyone”. Now you will able to delete that folder.
3. Also try to delete the following entry –
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESYSTEMControlSet001serviceseventlogSystemsptd
4. Now Run SPTD setup again and you should able to install it.
5. After restarting the machine, you should able to install the Daemon Tools.
According to the Daemon Tools community website, “error 2755” is a generic type of error or a system-specific error and it can be triggered in many different ways. One possible reason is a corrupt Windows Installer engine. Try updating to the latest Windows Installer according to your operating system.
Another possible reason is that the installation doesn’t have access to the “Temp” folder of the system drive or the “Temp” folder doesn’t have enough space. Another reason is if you are running the installation from a mapped network drive. In this case, copy the installer file to your local drive and run the installation from there. Before installing any Daemon Tools applications, ensure that your computer meets the requirements.
There are many different versions of Daemon Tools and they have individual specifications that need to be followed. Most of the users who encountered the problem fixed it by downloading DAEMON Tools Lite 10.6.0 for Windows. It seems the problem is with the installer package from the official website.
