Xbox wireless receiver not working on windows 7

I am a huge gamer and also a huge fan of the Xbox 360 controller. Given that I don’t have the budget to get myself an Xbox at the moment. I bought myself a controller and an Xbox PC receiver. I am currently gaming on windows 8, I have so far fail to make the receiver work. Can anyone help me with that? Is there any other way to connect the controller to windows?

Xbox wireless receiver not working on windows 7

 Hi Bruce!

 Microsoft hasn't made any statement about this issue. But according to some sources, users can be able to access Xbox Live Dashboard through their PC. And users can also download and play content from Xbox Live marketplace and also game disks can also be read with their PC. But surely, there will be a subscription fee for this.
