I bought SYMANTEC Products. What I need to know is that whether WindowsXP Service Pack2 is required to make SYMANTEC Products work? If ever, I install the Service Pack2, is it safe using it with SYMANTEC Products? I need your technical advice please.
Is WindowsXP Service Pack2 required for SYMANTEC Products work?
It is quite safe to have Windows XP service pack 2 with any line of Symantec products. I recommend you read the manual that came with your Symantec product bundle for the system requirements. But I recommend you do update to service pack 3 for you to avail of the latest fixes and security updates. There should be no problems if your concern is compatibility is between Windows XP and Symantec line of products. Also do update your Symantec products once you install them for the latest virus definitions and updates. Reach their customer service if you are having problems with your software. Hope this helps, thanks and good luck!
Is WindowsXP Service Pack2 required for SYMANTEC Products work?
Symantec actually has a vast collection of software and each of these have different needs as far as the system is concerned. Looking at one of the Symantec products, like the Symantec Endpoint Protection, it is listed that Windows XP is required and all service packs will do. Therefore, since you have Windows XP service Pack 2, the software should work, provided though that your system passes all the other requirements of the product. I would suggest though that you update your operating system to the latest service pack which is Windows XP Service Pack 3. This contains all the security updates and patches which should make your system more stable and more secure.
