Hi,

I have a new Nikon D800 from Amazon, but I am facing some problem while uploading and editing videos in windows live movie maker. It says that it can’t be recognized.

It shows a red x on the video.

For my Nikon, I use 1080 HD (1920 by 1080).

Please help,

Thank You.

The file E:videonikon051.mov is not a supported file type, and it cannot be imported into Windows Live Movie Maker

Hi Sean,

It is understandable that the default file format from your Nikon is .mov but you have to convert it into .avi so that movie maker can open it.

You can download any third-party video converting software and install it on your computer.

You can download RAD Video Tools which is a convenient converter from .mov to .avi.

You can get it here.
