Just as usual, out of nowhere, my computer decided that it was time to install Windows Updates. Generally, it is a smooth process however this time, the computer gave me error windows could not search for new updates 80244010. I am good with computers. Is there a way I can get rid of it myself?
This error is not that common. Windows update error can be caused by a number of factors including missing or corrupt system files, incomplete installations and so on. For this particular error though, I do not think any files are missing or corrupt.
The error code indicates that a rather funny phenomenon has occurred. This error means that your computer has reached the maximum number of roundtrips from the server back to your system. To get past this, all you can do is restart your computer, and then run the Windows Updates Troubleshooter. The results of the troubleshooting will tell you what is wrong with the system.
