Hi,

My avg antivirus detects wild tangent application I have installed on my PC as a threat. I have decided to uninstall it completely from my PC and re install again. The process for uninstalling manually is a hectic one & i know there is an online website that I can uninstall quickly therefore save time.

But I would also like to know why my avg detects wild tangent as a threat Anyone who can refer to me a website that I can use to remove wild tangent & also offer an insight to why avg sees wild tangent as threat?

Hi Jennifer Harden,

I have searched the internet and Google for possible solution with your problems. I think the best way to find the solution for your problem is to join the discussion in different forums. I have attached some links of a good forum that tackles about your concern.

V3 Forum: AVG says Multiple Threat Detection

Wildgames Forum: False Positives

Hope it would help you a lot.

Thanks.

Wildtangent games or applications are considered forensic or spyware, as it collects data such as CPU speed, video card configuration, Direct X version and sends it to their servers for analysis, so their applications can work better with your system, this is according to forums.spybot.info/showthread.php?t=2313. Although this might sound a good thing for the user's overall experience with the program, it poses an issue with data privacy.

AVG considers this kind of data collection as a security threat, as the program might potentially reporting safe files, if not confidential ones to an outside source. I would recommend using a local game or program which wouldn't need to network access as concern of data privacy nowadays poses threats to users.
