Hi experts,

When I want to configure a new client with Microsoft Outlook this unexpected error appears and I have to make the settings again. The result is this unexpected error, again and again. Is working just fine with my other 2 account to connect and sending e-mails, but I cannot create and configure another one. Anyone knows why? What might be the problem and how can I solve it please?

Thank you!

If you are on Microsoft Dynamics CRM 2011 and it seems your linked reports failed to display throwing the message “unexpected error”, verify that you include the Report Type field in any of the Reports views. It appears the CRM team is using this column to open linked reports and if you omitted this column, when a report is opened, it will go directly to the “download.aspx” link instead of the particular page.

So, to fix your problem, make sure the Report Type column is included and it should work fine after that. Another possible scenario where you can get the “unexpected error” status in Microsoft Dynamics CRM is when uploading attachments. See image.

If this happens, try activating the CRM Client tracing. This will help you determine the actual cause why Microsoft Dynamics CRM is throwing that message. To turn it on, click Start, Programs, Microsoft CRM, and then Diagnostics. Click Support Mode and then turn on Tracing. Once it is turned on, try to recreate the error several times and then turn off Tracing.

It will generate several log files that help you verify the real cause of the error.
