Which programming language you prefer to study and learn more about Visual basic or Java? Which is much easier to understand and what's more fun learning with?

I have to answer your question according to my personal experience on the two programming language. Well, if you have basic foundation with C or C++ then it's easier for you to learn Java. If  you have background on BASIC, then go for Visual Basic. One factor to be considered also is the type of development you want to do. Visual Basic enables you to do RAD (Rapid Application Development). Java gives you much more fun in software development in my own opinion. JVM (Java Virtual Machine) give you the ease and portability of your application. You can easily deploy it on Windows or Linux operating system. The new version of Visual Basic is also capable of doing so using the .NET framework. If you plan to create web-based applications then choose Java.
