It is all about watching movies and thinking how great it would be to experience it in reality. Although it has been there since 1950’s but wasn’t able to deliver the fullest immersive experience. Programmers have recently made changes in the software and hardware to feel the effects. It has two types mixed and augmented reality.

This is mostly been used in video games. It is also used for educational purposes as well in the big labs. The current virtual reality system uses virtual reality headsets or multi-projected environment to create the realistic effects of sound and images. The person using virtual reality can look around the artificial world and can move.

It has affected the companies to adapt it by helping them to engage more customers and optimise their sales effectively. There are three best headsets for the virtual reality i.e. Sony’s PlayStation VR, Face book’s Oculus Rift and the HTC Vive. There are changes made to improve its effect to make it feel more real and immersive.

Virtual reality or VR is an environment artificially created with software and presented to the user in such a way that the user suspends belief and accepts it is a real environment. It is a simulated experience that can be similar or different from the real world. There are different applications of virtual reality and it includes entertainment like gaming and educational purposes like for medical or military training.

Other noticeable types of virtual reality style technology include mixed reality and augmented reality. On a computer, virtual reality is mostly experienced via two of the five senses: sight and sound.

The simplest form of virtual reality is a 3-D image which a user can explore interactively via a computer normally using the keyboard keys or the mouse so that the content of the image moves in a particular direction or zooms in or out. Virtual reality can be divided into the following:

  • The simulation of the real environment for education and training.
  • The development of an imagined environment for an interactive story or game.
