I'd just like to ask, what is that square that looks like a barcode? How is it used?

Those funny looking square that looks like a barcode are what we called QR codes. It stands for a quick reply and an exceptional way to appoint with the business inexpensively. Artist is using QR for example. This is really square similar to and looks like a small crossword puzzles and recognized by the arrangement mark in other corner and 3 position marks.
There is an Android app that can scrutinize these QR barcodes called QRdvark. These QR bar codes can be seen everywhere in any music promotions, billboards, real estate signs, newspaper, electronic stores, Facebook pages, and many more.

What is that box that looks like barcode?
That square box you normally see that looks like a bar code is often used on mobile phones. It is called the “QR code” or known also as “Quick Response Code”. It is a mobile phone readable bar code or the mobile version of the usual bar code we see. This is often scanned using the handset’s camera to be able to access the record about the item linked to the QR code.
This is a 2-dimensional bar code that was first designed in Japan which is intended for the automotive industry. A bar code is an optical machine-readable label connected to objects that registers information associated to the object. It is very similar to the price tag sticker on the items found on the grocery store that displays the amount of the product. In QR code, it contains more information.
