Use Of Windows Server 2008 R2 SP2.
Service Pack 2 for Windows Server 2008 R2 is not available. SP2 for Windows Server 2008 R2 is a collection of updates for the operating system which comes in a single installation package. Therefore, even though the SP2 is not available, we can install it through the package. Organizations using SP2 for Windows Server 2008 have benefits in maintaining security and management, system performance all over, streamlined planning and deployment.
But for the SP2 installation, the computer must have SP1 installed already as SP2 is a single-servicing model. Windows Server already includes SP1. SP2 requires a needlessly larger file for Server customers. An update will be available for free download to the installed versions of Windows Server 2008. The SP2 updates are incorporated, or slipstreamed into Windows Server 2008.
